As part of the optional module “Aspects of Design and Construction of Tunnels and other Subsurface Infrastructure in Practice” taught by Prof. Thewes (Institute for Tunnel Construction and Construction Management), a group of Subsurface Engineering students together with further Civil Engineering Master students and research staff of the institute visited the STUVA Expo and Conference 2025 in Hamburg. The STUVA Expo and Conference take place every two years and is the international trade fair and conference for tunnels and infrastructure. 

The students did not only benefit from interesting presentations, but also from direct and personal exchanges with company representatives, which enabled them to establish contacts within the industry and with potential future employers.

The next STUVA will take place in 2027, and there will certainly be another opportunity to visit the expo and conference with the Institute for Tunnel Construction and Construction Management.
