The first indispensable step in the application process is to file an online application through the SubSurf application portal.

The application portal is open until the 11th of June 2023 for non-EU applicants and until 15th of July 2023 for applicants from within the EU, an online application is free of charge. Please note that it is not possible to start the program in the summer semester.

Note on the APS certificate: To apply for Subsurface Engineering, APS certification is currently only required for students from China. However, students from India and Vietnam must also present the APS certificate in order to apply for a visa and enrol at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
