You are interested in the degree programme Subsurface Engineering at the RUB. Here are five reasons that make SubSurf special.
The programme focuses on the sustainable use of the subsurface. Subsurface engineers are in high demand in both industry and research.
Graduates thus have excellent job chances on the international job market.
The programme encompasses essential courses from the fields of civil engineering and geosciences, as well as mathematics and applied computing. The subject-specific content is complemented by a variety of fundamental soft skills, such as communication and presentation skills.
After completion of the compulsory basic courses in the first semester, students choose one of the two specializations "Geotechnics and Tunneling" and "Subsurface Characterization and Utilization". Within each specialization, courses can be selected from the curriculum according to individual preferences.
The laboratories, testing halls and computer pools at the faculties involved in SubSurf are equipped with the latest technology.
In addition, the members of the SubSurf Coordination Office offer support in subject-related, organizational and personal matters.
